Requirements for training as an EMDR Therapist

• EMDR Training is only accessable for participants who have their Master’s Degree in Psychology or Social work. Occupational Therapists with a masters degree do not qualify to do EMDR Levels 1 or 2 training.

• There are 2 Levels of training: Level 1 and Level 2. Each level consists of 3 days of training. After completing each level you also have 2 hours of compulsory consultation.

• Certificates are only given to Participants who have completed level 2.

• Level 2 must be completed within 2 years of completing Level 1.

• The cost for each level of trainings is a once off payment (including the consultation Fee).

Arrangements for all training events

• In order to confirm the number of applications for the workshops, only online registrations will be accepted. Registration form available below.
• There has to be 10 or more candidates for a workshop to take place.
• All Play Therapy trainings are done by Reyhana Seedat, and is fully recognised internationally by the Association for Play Therapy, (APT) with 6 CEU points for each day of training.
• Workshop Times: Start 8am – End 5pm.
• Full attendance is compulsory to obtain certification, as well as 2 days of Supervision (where applicable) for each training.
• All payments to be made in full 7 days Prior to start of Workshop and the Proof of Payment must be emailed to rravat@iafrica.com.
• NO Payments to be made UNLESS requested by the administrator of Education Unlimited via email.

Reyhana Seedat is a certified Clinical, Family and Marital Therapist, as well as a member, trainer & therapist of the Association of Play Therapists, Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy and International Society for Sandplay Therapy. She trained under Dr G. Landreth of North Texas. She has a wealth of experience in teaching therapeutic skills and supervising students in Child Psychotherapy and Play Therapy.

Reyhana received her first degree through UNISA while bringing up four beautiful children. She then started to work when her youngest child was 8 years old and completed her M.Med. SC. S.W. B.S.W.Hons degree at the University of Durban Westville.

Since 1993 she has run her private practice in Durban. She has trained with some of the world’s best trainers in Play Therapy, EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Imago Therapy and Encounter Centred Relationship Therapy.

She has a broad front line experience in both adult and children’s mental health. Reyhana has appeared on many T.V. and Radio programmes, and in newspapers and magazines. In 1995 she was nominated as The Woman of the 90’s in South Africa for her innovative work with children and families.

She is an accomplished trainer who brings her creativity and flare for motivating people to all presentations. She is a registered Play Therapist and Supervisor Trainer with the Association for Play Therapy.

• The cost of the trainings is R9,000.00 once off payment non-refundable.
